  2. Happy Yorkshire day belated greetings :-) Nice flag with the Tudor Rose on it which came about (I'm sure you know) when Henry Lancastrian took a Yorkist lass ( she knew what was good for her) and he decided to put the red and white roses together as a reminder your women prefer Lancastrian Men:-).
...As I said Happy Yorkshire day nice Flag
    Regards

    1. All white noise my friend.

What im wondering though is why it has Scottish thistles and Irish shamrocks? Tried googling it with no luck... There is probably some obscure reason from a battle hundreds of years ago.....

  3. Hmm? Good point on the thistles and shamrocks maybe they just thought it looks nice:-) I had a look in my books on heraldry just puts them down as national symbols.Do you chaps take anybody in your Regiment? If so would it not mean English, Scots and Irish can all stand beneath the banner?
Your banner should have a beach and swimming pool on it!!;-)

    Best Regards

  4. Google British Army flags or colours, it would seem that the same thistles, shamrocks and tudor roses are on most if not all of our regiments colours.

    Random, no idea why....
