The Aeldari

Now then,

I collected an Eldar army way back in the early 90s when I was but a youth. Since restarting my 40k addiction last year I have tarted them up somewhat. There were lots of broken models, all chucked in a box, and left for years. Ive always liked the models so it seemed a shame.

The mainstay of the army are of course the guardian squads. Mine are made up of very old metal miniatures from the late 80's and early 90's.

Supported by war walkers and a wraith lord.

Leading them in battle are the farseer and warlock conclave.

Of course no Eldar or Aeldari as they are called these days, would be complete without Aspect Warriors.

The most common type are of course the Dire Avengers, led by their Exarch.

Next up we have the Fire Dragons. Led by their Exarch with his fire pike.

Now we come to one of my favourite units, the Warp Spiders.

Swooping Hawks, useful troops, but fragile.

Striking Scorpions. My largest Aspect squad, useful as bodyguards for my characters or to be left lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.

The Howling Banshees are another really iconic and cool unit.

My old Dark reapers. Led by their Exarch with his web of skulls!

Meghan Ra, the Phoenix lord of the Dark Reapers. A beast at range and no slouch in combat either.

My Rangers provide a bit of fire support with their Ranger long rifles.

And to finish off this little showcase of some of my oldest miniatures...

The Avatar of Khaine,  the bloody handed God.

I hoped you enjoyed this litte stroll down memory lane, thanks for stopping by and taking a look,

Stig

OLDHAMMER Chaos Dwarf army.

Now then,

I've been having a sort out, and have decided to sell my (very) old Chaos Dwarf army. Here's a few pictures of the little evildoers....

I painted these in the early nineties, and they must have been in a box in an attic for 15 years or more, so its time they had a new home.

SOLD

Old Imperial Characters 40K

Now then,

Continuing with my irregular series looking back on some of my older miniatures, this time I have my old Rogue Trader Inquisitor and his entourage....

This old model was painted in about 1995, although I remember having it in my unpainted pile for years before that......

A more recent figure, he was the psyker for my Imperial guard army back in the day.

A random character, a crazed priest with a shotgun!

And finally the Confessor, another religious zealot...

So there you have it, more random figures from the dim and distant past. I really enjoyed painting these guys, and its unfortunate that they are in a box..somewhere..... and have been for donkeys years..... ill have a dig about on various harddrives and find some pics of my Eldar and Guard armies.

In other news, epic month continues with lots of marines being finished off, and ill be getting some whirlwinds and Predators finished next.... Fear not history fans, I have some big plans for my ancient armies this year, as well as my Bolt action project, which has moved to the top of the queue and will be the February project.

Until later, thanks for looking,

Steve

Old School Warhammer #2 Prince Tyrion

Hi all,

The second in an irregular series of posts, this time i have found some pictures of the general of my old High elf army, Prince Tyrion, i seem to remember he had a twin brother who was a wizard? I have him painted up somewhere too....

Anyway, here he is. (painted around 1995..ish)

I remember him being an all conquering dealer of death to all and sundry..

I also have the army champion, on his pegasus, this guy would always swoop down on the enemy artillery, destroy it then attack units in the rear, causing mayhem.... Good times.

The more i look at these old pictures, the more i think its a shame they have been in storage for nearly 16 years.....

So there you have it, another bit of my wargaming "history".

Old School Warhammer #1 Chaos Dwarfs

Now then,

I was looking through my pictures on photobucket today, and found these pictures of some of my oldest miniatures.

So heres the first in an irregular series where ill be putting up pictures of all my older and sadly nearly forgotten figures that have been languishing in storage for well over a decade, if not longer.

Warhammer 3rd edition is where it all pretty much started for me back in the dim and distant past, but over the years the miniatures and background changed so much that these guys were relegated to their box.

Chaos Dwarfs (1980's vintage)

The warrior Regiment (painted in 1990)

Crossbowmen

A mortar and some mutants.

I made some sabot bases for the army a few years ago, with an idea of playing Hott with my two boys, but I lost that particular battle to the XBOX....

I have loads of warhammer stuff still, and WH40K armies too, one day I will photograph it all, and put them on here, who knows one day they might be used in a game again?

Random post eh?
